The great challenge is living your wounds through instead of thinking them through. It is better to cry than to worry, better to feel your wounds deeply than to understand them, better to let them enter into your silence than to talk about them.

I wrestled with this particular excerpt for days. There is truth here, but I think there are more possibilities than just crying or worrying; than feeling or understanding. What about doing both? Perhaps not at the same time, but there is a proper time for each.
Both have their place. While the initial days or months after a wound is inflicted might be a time for silence, there also lies value in the raw, unfiltered sharing which can only come from someone in the middle of the fight.
